Faux curses, Original Story, and Brothers?

I would like to remind you all that I called it, well I called at least some of it. If you look back on some of my previous posts, you’ll see that I questioned the validity of the curse that so many have fought so hard to break or keep from breaking. So, now that I have that out of the way, let’s discuss what’s going to happen with the next three episodes for the season and what may be in store for Season 3! For those of you who’ve been living in the desert somewhere, it has officially been confirmed that the CW is renewing Vampire Diaries for another season.

I’m not terribly impressed with Klaus. I was expecting big, bad, and devastatingly sexy. All I’m seeing is someone who appears to suffer a sort of inferiority complex. Perhaps it has something to do with when he was still human and he found out that he wasn’t his father’s son after all, that he was the product of a torrid affair his mother had with a simpleton. Then he suffers an even bigger set back when the man he always knew as his father distances himself from Klaus, and then kills Klaus’ real father’s family. All of that mixed together is a deadly combination for a young human. The anger itself can force a rational human to react in ways never before imagined, but when you add to the equation that he becomes a vampire, then no one stands a chance to survive Klaus’ wrath. Problem is, I don’t really think he’s bite is as big as his bark. Even if he does break the curse and he’s able to tap into his werewolf side, thus allowing for him to produce puppies with other werewolves, I still don’t think he’s as deadly as everyone makes him out to be.

As for Katherine, I actually feel sorry for her, not so much now as back then when she was still human. I don’t understand what it was about Klaus that drew her in. She must have been compelled. Left to my own choices, and I’m an Elijah gal. He’s much sexier, and he’s smart, plus he seems to care and have a sense of humanity, or at least he did. It still up for debate as to how well he can be trusted and whether he will double cross Elena. Back to Katherine, though. She seemed to really care for Klaus, deeply cared for him but once she found out who he was and what he was going to do to her, she took matters into her own hands. You know the story, vampire blood in her system, then killing herself, thereby becoming a vampire herself. It was her chance to not just save her own life, but I think to give a swift “F– you!” to Klaus for using and hurting her.

Now to Damon and Stefan. At the start of this season, I was starting to lean more towards Stefan as the appropriate fit for Elena. He seemed to grow and mature, no longer brooding and wallowing in his own self pity. He became the protector and the man she needed. Damon just appeared to be a spoiled brat, one who didn’t get his way and chose to act out in whatever way possible including hurting those closest to him. As the season has moved foward, both brothers have shown that they are willing to keep Elena safe, I just don’t know if Stefan is really the one to do it and I don’t know that he’s totalling concerned about Elena. Stefan is more focused on the collateral damage that may be suffered. It’s unfortunate, but there is always collateral damage in a war, but you can’t forget the endgame, what you are fighting for and I think that has left his focus. I think that Stefan is worried about too many other people, while Damon has made it clear that no matter Elena comes first. He’s not willing to trust others and accept the status quo. History has proven that you don’t err on the side of good judgement. It’s always wise to have a Plan B as well as a Plan C and even a Plan D. I think this is Damon’s way of thinking because when it comes down to it, he’s said so himself…..Elena will ALWAYS come first.

I’m excited to see what will happen tonight. I’m hoping for the end of Matt. He’s storyline is done and Caroline deserves better than this turd! Tyler will be back and I hope he’s genuinely making amends for the way he was with Caroline. And then we get to see what sort of little fist fight the Salvatores will have tonight, plus there’s still Klaus and the rest of his story! Oh, yeah, by the way, I read an interview that Kevin Williamson did last week. He stated that the mindfield between Damon, Stefan, and Klaus is wide enough for next year. Is that a hint that Klaus will survive and that Elena will be sacrificed? We’ll just have to wait and see!

What’s in store now that Klaus is in town?

Of course, I’ve done my research, and I can tell you all what to expect in the final four episodes of Vampire Diaries. That’s right, I said final 4, tis sad but true.

As we all know, Klaus is returning this week. The real Klaus, not just an Alaric possessed version. Next week, April 28th will see the return of Tyler, but why is that? He receives a mysterious phone call that lures him back into Mystic Falls and the question in the air is will he be alone, or will Jules be joining him? And what length will he go to in order to rid himself of the curse he’s unwittingly triggered or will he be another casualty in this battle? There are so many turns for him take, decisions for him to make.

May 5th which is the 5th episode of the final 6 of the season will see the most blood shed of the season. Julie Plec is teasing that this episode will have a significant number of casualties. Who among are Mystic Fall gang will fall? It’s still not going to be Caroline, she’s safe, but others have already been voted off. Any ideas as to who else will suffer?

So, let’s get back to Klaus. This week, we’re in for a treat as this will be another infamous flash back episode with tons of back story. Plus we’ll also get a look at the modern day Klaus. Just as an FYI, all previews we’ve seen with Klaus, shows him with golden brown locks of the King Arthur era, which would be about right considering he’s over 500 years old. The latest photos of 21st century Klaus are pretty appealing. I’m excited to see what his relationship with Katherine was like when they first crossed paths. What exactly did she do to him? I’m still convinced there was a love affair between the two of them. He’s still hurting and wants her to suffer. Remember last week’s episode? I believe the quote was it took him over 500 years to find her, and it was going to take at least half that amount of time for her to die. Her death will be slow and painful, but it’s inevitable. I don’t forsee Katherine making it past this season.

And then my next question is what about Elena and Damon? Is it possible that Elena will finally stop fighting her feelings where Damon is concerned. Yeah, you know what, he’s selfish with everything including her, but he’s a lot more selfless with her than Stefan will ever be. The two of them will come to blows over her and the question is how will it end? I have a few ideas, but I’m going to wait to see what happens this week.

So, check out the pics from this week’s upcoming episode. And let me know what you think about Klaus and what exactly his relationship was with Katherine. Here’s an idea to ponder and this picture only adds to this theory….. a love triangle between Elijah, Klaus, and Katherine. Were Elijah and Klaus the “original” version of the Salvatores?

“The Last Dance”

It’s only been 2 seasons of Vampire Diaries, but easily one of my favorite things about this show is that they do a decades dance at least once. It’s a nice change for the normal drab high school dances especially seeing all of the students dressed in their vintage garb. Of course, seeing an all black clad Damon, silk shirt opened midway down his chest was extremely appetizing as well. 🙂

“The Last Dance” seemed to leave a lot of my fellow viewers and fans a little in need of more killing and less emotions, to quote the words of my friend, Gretchen. I; however, was pleasantly surprised with the storyline and how well Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson can crochet a story with so many possibilities. I’m envious of their ability to write storylines like this. After all, I really believe that Bonnie had died. I shed tears over her death and silently berated myself for not seeing that coming. Of course after it came out that she had actually performed a curse on herself to make herself appear dead, I silently berated myself even more for falling for the ploy.

I must admit that I rather enjoy Alaric as Klaus. I’ve never disliked Alaric, but the storyline he now has makes him very appealing and it’s nice to see Matt Davis take on a more complex role. And I love the devious smile at all times Alaric seems to have. I don’t know if it’s because he’s evil, but he definitely became a lot more attractive in my eyes. Unfortunately, I think Alaric will be the first to get the axe. How are they going to keep Alaric alive after this? I don’t see how it will be possible for Klaus to de-possess him and then for Alaric to move along as if nothing ever happened. I’m not sure how Alaric will die, but Julie Plec did tell Matt Davis that if he was going out, it would be with a storyline that no one saw coming and Klaus possessing his body through a blood transfusion is the opening chapter to the end of his life. I can’t say if it will be Klaus vacating his body that will kill him, or if Damon or Stefan will do it accidentally because they think he’s still Klaus. I suppose we’ll find that out this week.

I did see Elijah coming back to life, though. All signs were leading to it, when Klaus told Katherine that it would be best to keep Elijah dead. And of course, Elena would be the one to pull the knife out. Is Elijah going to work with Elena in the end or will he double cross her?

“The Last Dance” was definitely a lot more emotional that many of the other episodes, but it’s needed to balance out everything. I’m still over Matt, he can vacate the show at any point. Caroline deserves better. I’m excited to see Tyler come back and maybe Caroline can forgive him for what he put her through.

Can’t wait to see the real Klaus this week.

Do you “Know Thy Enemy”

Wow, OMG, and WTF pretty much describe the words (or acronyms for that matter) that have been spewing from my mouth since the moment “Know Thy Enemy” premiered. I have to admit I have rewatched the show numerous times and I’m in such envy over the genius minds known as Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. After all, let’s be serious, how many of you really saw all of that coming?

So, Mommie Dearest came back and from the start I can honestly I say I never trusted a word that spewed from her heartless venomous mouth. How many of you were originally disgusted at the site of Katherine and Isobel hugging and then knew that the two of them were conspiring to backstab the other? It was rather obvious from the start and I suppose what made the hug so disgusting was that I knew how fake it was especially on Isobel’s part. Their conversations with each, the girlie bonding over wine was nauseating and I wondered how much longer we were going to be forced to deal with this display of sarcastic affection. Then again, at this point, I really wondered if Kevin and Julie expected their viewers to be morons, or if they really wanted us to think that Isobel was playing Katherine. After all, when Isobel explains that John thinks she’s helping him protect Elena, but really she’s just using him to funnel information to Katherine, were we really supposed to believe that Katherine was going to take the hook, line and sinker on those word? Absolutely not! Katherine Pierce is only out for herself and she will use and abuse anyone that steps across her path. How great was it, though, to see Katherine get double crosses by Isobel and not even see it coming? Come on, Katherine, I’m losing my respect for you.

“Know Thy Enemy” had a lot of twists and turns and compelling storylines many of which I could never really have anticipated. The poetic justice of Isobel literally dying at the grave that was set for her years after her mortal death, was outstanding. I never anticipated Isobel would die, she was never in my list of possible suspects, but again it’s fitting. Here’s my question, though, Isobel was obviously compelled by Klaus, but for how long has this been occurring? And apparently, the doppelgänger isn’t what Klaus is after, at least not for now. Does he have an interest in just torturing Katherine first? He loved her, I’m convinced of it, but she tore out his heart, forced him to suffer the pain of loving a woman who can’t be loved, much like Katherine has done with every male. Maybe he wants to find a way to force her to love him, I really don’t know. I don’t know his game and I can’t imagine why he would need to possess Alaric at this point. This particular plot of the story has definitely baffled me.

Towards the end of the show, I began to wonder about Alaric. What exactly happened to him and what role was he being forced to play in all of this craziness? I’m still shaking my head at this point as I try to think through every possible scenario. Why would Alaric of all people be used?

As for the tortured lovers of the series, Matt and Caroline, I’m over this. I’m tired of the treatment that Caroline receives. She never asked for what she became, but it’s made her into a new person, a person who has more of an in-depth feeling of her emotions. She feels more than she did as a human and it’s made her more in tune to the feelings of those around her. She feels pain at a higher magnitude and does not want another to suffer what she does. She’s a true selfless soul and I really wish that Kevin and Julie would find a way for her to have some love and happiness. As far as I’m concerned, Matt is expendable, he has been from day one. He serves no purpose other than to piss me off. He’s whiney, overly dramatic, selfish and just an all around brat. I’m ready for him to leave this show.

I loved “Know Thy Enemy”! I literally can not wait for this week’s episode. What is Klaus going to have Alaric do and what exactly is Katherine going to be forced to endure. Surely, everything that she deserves and then some.

Right now I’m trying to regroup with my thoughts because obviously my theories from before aren’t exactly coming through to fruition. I’d love to hear what some of you guys are thinking out there. There’s only five episodes left, such a short time to try to put all of this into a storyline.

My theories

We’re less that twenty-four hours away from the first of six new and final episodes for the Vampire Diaries season. I’m sure many of you have voraciously poured through websites and blogs over the hiatus weeks looking for the skinny on what’s to come. I’ll gladly admit that I have, since I have this little addiction to a teenage soap opera.

So, tomorrow night’s episode is “Know Thy Enemy” and I want to start the final six episodes with a theory of my own as to what’s going to happen. So, keep all hands and objects within the car, this ride could be bumpy and I can’t guarantee any injuries.

We all know that Klaus is coming back and we all know that he’s looking to break the vampire curse, a curse that we’re still unaware of what exactly it is. We’ve all heard the theories from the vampire side, to the werewolf side and even the witch side. So, whose version is correct and what exactly happens when you mix a witch, a werewolf, a vampire, a doppleganger, a moonstone, and a place where a hundred witches were massacred? I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it does nothing any of the above think. Poor Klaus is going to be sorely disappointed, a werewolf will die and television Elena may suffer the same fate as book Elena.

Here’s my theory, it’s all a hoax. It’s an age-old tale created by the witches. Whoever destroys the moonstone and “breaks the curse” will be the one to die and the others will be forever sealed into their current states. Which means, if a werewolf breaks the curse, that werewolf will die and all other parties, including any other werewolves and vampires, will remain who they are, slaves to the sun and moon. So, this leads me to who I believe will be the ones to die since we’ve already been informed that deaths will abound.

Tyler is coming back to Mystic Falls. Is it because he misses his mother, perhaps he wants to make amends with Caroline, or maybe he’s still the same selfish kid he’s always been and just wants to break the werewolf curse even if that means sacrificing Elena. Whatever the reason, Jules will be in tow and there is the first one to die…..Jules. No big loss in my book.

Greta will be seen. You’re wondering who Greta is, well she’s the witch Luka and Dr. Martin were trying to free from Klaus’ grasp. She is Luka’s sister and the witch that Klaus needed to break the curse. I think she will team up with Bonnie, but one of them will suffer the consequences and we can’t have a season without Bonnie, so Greta must go.

And finally Uncle John. He’s a douche anyways and he’s hated enough by many, so I don’t really foresee him surviving. It’s a possibility that he will actually decide to put the best interest of his daughter ahead of his selfish desires to kill all things vampire. Again, no big loss, but John must go. And the reason I think it’s him is because in one preview I saw Elena and Jenna crying. I can’t believe that Kevin and Julie would kill off Alaric, although anything is possible. And it’s natural for both Jenna and Elena to shed tears over John’s death.

Now for a few other juicy little tidbits. Katherine can NOT be trusted. Can you all say “duh” with me. Unfortunately, I think a few people want to believe that she has turned a new leaf, but here’s the thing. She’s managed to manipulate John and Isobel to help get her out of the tomb under the false assumption that she would help them and team up against the Salvatore brothers. Katherine’s going to turn the tables on John and Isobel. No way is she ever going to turn on Stefan. Of course, Katherine’s alliances come and go, since she’s only out for herself, as proven from the start when she hung herself while having vampire blood coursing through her body, thus turning her in to who we know and love, er I mean hate, today.

I think Stefan and Damon are going to come to blows over Elena and no longer will Stefan turn a blind eye to his brother’s affections for Elena. They are both going to fight over her protection, who loves her and who deserves her and what will the consequences be? Elena? Will their anger and jealousy of each other overshadow their need to protect the love of their lives? Who knows!

So, tomorrow night’s it. Let’s see if some of my theories will start to pan out and if I have at least one of the three deaths correct.

And We’re Back…..

April 21st is the episode we’ve all waited for, the night we get to meet the infamous Klaus who we’ve heard so much about for months. I read a brief synopsis on the episode and it appears that Elena decides to take matters into her own hands infuriating both Stefan and Damon as she makes a new ally who will help to keep those she loves safe. Also, this episode will give us one of my favored items, a flashback. We’ll step back in time to see Katherine’s first encounter with Elijah and Klaus as well as the much sought after moonstone. I can’t wait to see how the threesome interacts in the days of the Petrovas.

It appears that we haven’t heard the last of Tyler either. I never anticipated that he would be completely written off, but becoming a werewolf and learning that Elena was the one holding the key that could break the curse was too much for they young pup to handle. Tyler’s a punk, but he’s a punk with a heart, one that’s hiding behind the way his unemotional father taught him to be. I’m not sure what the storyline will be with Tyler, but I can’t believe that he won’t come back and selflessly fight for his friends and Caroline as well.

And then there’s that whole Mommy Dearest is back in town storyline. Just exactly what is Isobel up to? She put up a good front for Elena the first time they met, but Isobel cares about her daughter. She’s known from day one what her daughter was and the answers she unknowingly held. Isobel agreed to hand over her daughter to the Gilberts to raise hoping that her Petrova lineage would stay secret. I think Isobel sought out Damon and became a vampire as her way to protect Elena. In her mortal form, she had no ability to do that. There’s still a lot more to this storyline and my theories may pan out. Then again, we may never really know Isobel’s true motives. She’s been rather elusive with those from the moment she set foot in Mystic Falls.

Finally, I just saw a tweet from Ian Somerhalder, Damon Salvatore himself. He tweeted a picture of the title page of the final script for the season and it’s entitled, “As I Lay Dying”. It’s a given someone is going to die before the end of the year, but the question is really how many some ones are going to die? Currently, there are about 20 characters on Vampire Diaries, and my digging has unearthed that a big portion of those characters will die. We’ve spent the entire season with everyone focusing on saving Elena’s life, but what about some of the supporting cast? What about Bonnie? She’s putting herself through a lot to help save her best friend. Is she doing too much? And what about Matt? I’ve always felt like he’s an expendable character and perhaps that will be the turning point for Caroline, to give her a storyline that’s more than just about chasing after a boy. I’m told that Caroline is definitely safe, but she’s the only one that has been given the green light into season 3. And don’t worry, fellow fans, Vampire Diaries is safe and will return for a Season 3.

Stay tuned for this week’s episode, “Know Thy Enemy” to see what’s in store for our beloved characters.
